Hyaluronic acid is a viscous material that lubricates the joint and is thought to stimulate cartilage growth. The injections are given every few months depending on the severity of the arthritis, and may prolong for prevent surgery.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) has emerged over the last 15 years as a very important tool for the diagnosis of many rheumatic and orthopedic conditions. Musculoskeletal ultrasound can help guide injections to ensure accurate placement into the targeted tissue. Ultrasound can also be used to diagnose conditions such as rotator cuff tears, tendon, muscle, or ligament tears, nerve entrapment and to evaluate joints for inflammation and other signs of disease.

Telemedicine refers to the use of video conferencing technology to conduct long distance visits with patients. While this may not be applicable to all visit types (some visits absolutely require a physical exam), several visits can be conducted with the patient off site. We use a HIPAA-compliant platform to conduct these visits and special charges may apply for these services
